The Kids’ Summer Reading Club

 “Dream Big, READ!”

Starts in June, with registration beginning on June 11 and continuing through July 31.

Online registration begins on May 15, at www.sdcl.org.

 Children read and earn prizes.

Beginning Tuesday, June 19, at 11 am

Special programs featuring: Mad Science, Birch Aquarium,  Animal Magic with John Abrams, Sparkles the Clown and much more are scheduled to take place.

  Beginning Wednesday,  June 20, at 11am

Kids crafts (ages 6 & up) 

 Beginning Wednesday, June 20- July 25, at 6:15 pm

  Bilingual Popsicle Storytime will take place 

  Beginning Fridays, June 29  at 11 am

Preschool programs featuring animal shows, magic, storytellers, and Sparkles the Clown are . All programs are free and open to the public.

Summer Storytimes:

Baby Storytime continues each Monday at 11 am for prewalkers, through July.  We’ll take a break in August and begin again in September.

Toddler Storytime:  Last session is May 30.  Program will resume in September.

PAWS to READ:  Last date is May 21 and will resume in the Fall.

Teen Film Academy:  June 18 – July 24.  Signups required.  Limited to 12 students.

 Homework Help

Ends May 22, 2012 and resumes in the Fall

   Children in grades K -6 who need  assistance with homework are invited to attend the library’s free Homework Help sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4- 5:30 pm. Trained teenage and adult tutors area available to help childrenon a first come, first served basis, Some tutors are bilingual. Children will be greeted with a friendly smile. questions? Call  Youth Services at 760-643-5112.

Paws to Read

PAWS to Read

 Monday evenings, 4:00-5:00  Children beginning to read can read out loud to a trained therapy dog.  Pick up a ticket for a 15-minute session after 5:30 at the reference desk.  No PAWS during December.

    I was wondering if Wednesday Toddler Story Time is EVERY Wednesday. Thanks.Jan

      Yes, every Wednesday during the school year, with no storytime during the last two weeks of December.
